Social Hub Group Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 August 2026
These Terms apply to your use of the Social Hub Group website, social media spaces, and participation in any events or activities hosted by us (“the services”). By accessing our website, joining our online spaces, or attending our events, you agree to these Terms.
Purpose of the Hub
Social Hub Group exists to create safe, welcoming, in-person social and wellbeing spaces for adults in Australia. Events may include social mixers, singles events, themed parties, and wellbeing-oriented activities. Some events are facilitated by a mental health professional, but the Hub is not a therapy service and events are not a substitute for individual mental health care.
Eligibility
Our services are intended for adults aged 18 years or older, living in or able to attend events in Australia. This is not an online-only community. Participation assumes an intention to attend in-person events. We reserve the right to decline or revoke participation where these criteria are not met.
Community Values & Behaviour Expectations
We are committed to providing a space where people feel safe, respected, and welcome. By participating, you agree to the following:
Respect & Inclusion
Discrimination or harassment based on race, ethnicity, religion, disability, body size, age, gender, sexuality, or identity will not be tolerated. Treat everyone with kindness and respect, both online and in person.
Consent & Boundaries
Do not touch anyone at in-person events without their clear, enthusiastic consent. Do not send unsolicited private messages to other participants. Respect verbal and non-verbal boundaries at all times.
Safety & Conduct
Bullying, intimidation, coercion, or degrading comments are not allowed. Behaviour that makes others feel unsafe, pressured, or uncomfortable may result in removal from an event or the community. These expectations apply across all spaces, including: events, social media, and direct messages related to the group.
Enforcement & Removal
We reserve the right to: refuse entry to an even, request that someone to leave an event, remove access to online spaces, decline future participation. This may occur without refund where behaviour breaches these Terms or undermines community safety. Decisions are made with the wellbeing of the wider community in mind.
Event Participation & Responsibility
You attend events at your own discretion and are responsible for: your own physical and emotional wellbeing, managing your alcohol or substance use (where applicable), seeking appropriate professional support outside events if needed. While events are hosted with care and intention, we cannot guarantee the behaviour of other attendees.
Liability & Assumption of Risk
By securing a ticket and attending an event, you acknowledge that joining public social gatherings carries inherent risks, including but not limited to property loss, personal injury, or the unpredictable actions of other attendees. You voluntarily assume these risks. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you agree to release Social Hub Group, our hosts, and our venue partners from any liability, claims, or damages arising from your attendance. Additionally, you agree to be financially responsible for any damage you cause to a venue or injury you cause to another person during an event. These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
Mental Health Disclaimer
Some events are hosted or facilitated by mental health professionals; however, events are social or wellbeing-oriented - not clinical services. No diagnosis, treatment, or crisis support is provided. Participation does not create a therapist–client relationship. If you require mental health support, we encourage you to seek appropriate professional or emergency services.
Photography & Media
From time to time, photos may be taken at events for promotional purposes. We aim to respect privacy and will not knowingly publish identifying images of attendees without consent. You may opt out at any time by notifying the host or getting in touch with us.
Third-Party Platforms
Events and communications may be managed via third-party platforms such as Facebook, Active Locals, Meetup, Humanitix, or Eventbrite. Use of these platforms is subject to their own terms and policies.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally to reflect changes in events, community needs, or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted on our website.
